Industrial robotics in the palm of your hand
Mecademic provides ultra-compact, precise, and easy to integrate robot arms that will revolutionize the robotics field. An industrial robot should be a component, like a conveyor or a smart camera, not a bulky, stand-alone, and complex system that requires several days of training. We design, develop and manufacture the smallest and most accurate six-axis industrial robots on the market. These robots are typically used for testing and inspection, material handling, assembly, and dispensing, mainly in the electronics and medical devices industries. Although our team is continuously growing, we all have one thing in common: our passion for creativity and innovation, for sharing knowledge, and for finding new solutions for flexible automation.
Mecademic was founded in 2013 by Jonathan Coulombe (CEO) and Professor Ilian Bonev of Montreal's École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS). Our first product was a dual-arm SCARA robot (DexTAR) for the academic market. Shortly after the commercial release of DexTAR, Jonathan decided to focus exclusively on delivering high-precision, small robot arms to the industry. The Meca500 was introduced to the public in May 2015, and has been commercially available since July 2016. A few hundred Meca500 robots are already in operation in nearly twenty countries in North America, Europe and Asia.
Mecademic's guiding principles are to
- innovate and create unique products for flexible automation;
- offer only the highest quality robotics components;
- disseminate robotics knowledge;
- listen and learn from our customers;
- develop strategic long-term partnerships.
